Graduated from the Department of Neurosurgery, the First Hospital of Peking University, Beijing, China, Dr. Ni gained the M.D.-Ph.D degree in 2005. Following to work as a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Neurosurgery, Medical College of Shandong University, Jinan, China, from 2010 to 2013. In 2009, Dr. Ni, as a visiting scholar, went to the Department of Neurosurgery, Westmead Hospital, University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia. In 2016, Dr. Ni was successively a senior visiting scholar in New York-Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell, Cornell University, USA, Skull Base Center, University of Pittsburgh
Medical Center (UPMC), Pittsburgh, USA, and Institute of Brain Tumor, School Of Medicine, University of Bergen, Norway, achieving Harvard Medical CLIMB-CSRT at Harvard University. Currently, Dr. Ni holds the office of the chief physician in the Department of Neurosurgery, Qilu Hospital, Shandong University. Besides, Dr. Ni won Wang Zhongcheng Neurosurgical Young Physician Award in 2019, ranked national third place of Chinese Young and Middle-aged Neurosurgeon meningioma surgical technic competitions ( winning national first prize in the subspecialty of endoscope and skull base).
 
In nearly 20 years of neurosurgical practice, Dr. Ni has accumulated a wealth of experience in brain and spinal tumors by minimally invasive surgical technology. He specializes in a wide range of brain and spinal tumors by minimally invasive surgical technology, especially pituitary adenoma and other complicated tumors in skull base and deep brain tumors, as well as trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm and glossopharyngeal neuralgia by minimally invasive surgical technology.
 
As projects leader, Dr. Ni has presided over 6 national and provincial projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has also published papers over 30 with over 20 SCI papers. He has written and translated Clinical Neurosurgery and Core Techniques in Operative Neurosurgery, as well. Besides, Dr. Ni was awarded Top 10 outstanding young physicians in Qilu Hospital. He also won the second prize of the Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress Award and the first prize of rescuing severe cases in Qilu Hospital. Currently, he is the young committer member of the Chinese Medical Association of Neurosurgery, Chinese Medical Doctor Association of Neurosurgery, and China International Exchange and Promotion Association for Medical and Healthcare of skull base surgery, vice-chairman of youth committee for Shandong Provincial Medical Association of Neurosurgery, Shandong Provincial Medical Association of Digital Medicine and Shandong Provincial Clinical Anatomy Association of Nerve, and executive director of Shandong Association of pain medicine. He also serves as the corresponding evaluation expert of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the corresponding editor of Chinese Journal of Neurosurgery (in English), Chinese Journal of Neuromedicine, and other journals.
