Graduated and achieved medical bachelor’s degree, medical master’s degree and medical doctor’s degree, in 1987, 1992 and 1999, respectively and have become the first indigenous (vernacular) medical doctor in Shandong province, P.R. China and worked at the Department of Neurosurgery, Qilu (the former Cheeloo) Hospital, Shandong University from July, 1987 as a neurosurgeon.
 
As a pure clinical-working surgeon, Dr. Yang had his 3 main topics highly relevant to certain surgical technique nuances published in international famous Science Citation Index (SCI) journals, Neurosurgery, Clinical journal of pain, and Surgical Neurology (has now been renamed as World Neurosurgery), in 2006, 2007 and 2008, respectively.

1,Cerebrovascular diseases

Having a background of intensive drilling and clinical practices in the field of microsurgical anastomosis vascular bypass techniques, which is applied to complex aneurysms , Moyamoya disease ischemic cerebrovascular diseases, including carotid  endarterectomy, complex skullbase neoplasms etc. Dr. yang is also good at management of intracranial aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVM), dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF), etc, with endovascular techniques, as well as the cutting-edge hybridization techniques and strategies, the latter is the combination of both the conventional microneurosurgical and endovascular techniques, for more complex cerebrovascular lesions.

2, Endoscopic neurosurgical techniques

Dr. Yang is good at both skull base lesion (pituitary adenomas, craniopharyngiomas, etc.) resection via transsphenoid approach, and endoscopic assisted microsurgeries via craniotomy.

Microvascular decompression surgeries for the management of trigeminal and glossopharyngeal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm and microsurgical resection of skullbase neoplasm ,including  acoustic neuronal ,meningioma,pituitary adenoma,facial spasm,craniopharyngioma , etc.
