The 112nd International Women’s Day fell on March 8, 2022. Labor union of Qilu Hospital prepared various activities to celebrate the day for female staff.
On March 7, Li Shucai, Vice President of Shandong University, and Liu Hongwei, Secretary of Party Working Committee of Cheeloo College of Medicine visited Qiu Chen, associate chief physician of the Department of Radiation Oncology, also the 2021 Shandong Women’s Pace-setter, and staff of the Department of Infectious Diseases working at nucleic acid sampling sites. The visiting team was accompanied by Hou Junping, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Qilu Hospital, Su Hua, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Qilu Hospital, and other leaders. Li Shucai and Hou Junping presented bouquets and sent greetings to female staff, encouraging them to play an exemplary and leading role at work, and lead healthy lives despite the heavy workload.
In view of the requirements of pandemic prevention and control work, labor union of the hospital cancelled large-scale collective celebration activities and carried out a variety of festive activities both online and on site, meeting different needs of female staff at the hospital. Professor Cui Baoxia, Deputy Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, was invited to record a video lecture on “Caring for Women's Health-How to Stay away from Cervical Cancer", which was released on labor union’s website and the WeChat Channel of Qilu Hospital’s Youth, so that female staff can watch and learn at any time. The video got more than 6000 views within 8 hours after release. In addition, nearly 4,000 female staff of the hospital participated in the online civil code quiz, creating a strong atmosphere of respecting, learning, abiding by, and using the law at the hospital. Several training courses on flower arrangement were held three days in a row before Women's Day. Hou Junping, Secretary of the CPC Committee, Chen Yingying, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee, and Han Hui, Vice President of the hospital came up to send holiday greetings to female staff and appreciate their contributions to the hospital. Female staff expressed their gratifications and created beautiful flower arrangements in the activity.
Female staff of the hospital received loving care from the university, hospital, and labor union through multiple activities, which helped them pay attention to their wellbeing, gain knowledge on law, and develop art appreciation. Besides, celebration of the festival encouraged female staff to contribute efforts to the new era and the hospital.
