Hou Junping said the theme of the speech contest “Have faith to go far” was inspired by the proverb “Only when you have faith in your heart can you go far” put forward by Xi Jinping. Therefore, the contest is highly consistent with the principle of “learning the Party history, understanding the idea, doing practical work and opening up a new situation” in Party history learning and education. “Have faith” is to deeply learn the glorious journey the Party has traveled over 100 years of struggle, delve into basic principles of Marxism, especially the Party’s innovative theoretical achievements in the new era, know the history, love the CPC, the Chinese nation, and socialism by “learning the Party history and understanding the idea”. “Go far” is to highlight the principle of “doing practical work and opening up a new situation”, lay the foundation of faith from learning the great historical journey of the CPC, strengthen the will to struggle, shoulder the responsibility for the people, and forge ahead courageously. The next step is to adhere to the combination of “have faith” and “go far”, and continue to integrate learning the Party history with the study of the history of new China, reform and opening-up, and the development of socialism, striving to build a hospital that can reassure the Party, satisfy the people, and be respected by the society.
With extensive mobilization and meticulous organization in the early stage, more than 100 contestants from 9 Party branches and Qingdao campus attended the preliminary. 25 contestants finally reached the final after a fierce competition.
