Director of the Economic Office of the Embassy of Israel in China led a Delegation to Visit the Hospital

On March 22, Yan Simin, director of the Economic Office of the Embassy of Israel in China led a delegation to visit Qilu Hospital of Shandong University and attended a symposium. Lu Linlin from Asian and African Section of Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People’s Government, Zhang Jiaqi from Interschool Exchange Office of International Affairs Department of Shandong University, Chen Teng, director of International Office of Qilu Hospital, and other hospital staff involved attended the symposium. The two parties conducted in-depth discussions on cooperation between Qilu Hospital and Israeli universities and affiliated medical institutions in diagnosis and treatment technology, scientific research, and talent exchanges.

At the meeting, Chen Teng welcomed Yan Simin and the delegation, and gave a detailed introduction to the hospital and the development of the internationalization work. Chen Teng said that in recent years, the hospital attaches great importance to international cooperation, and strives to build an all-directional, multi-layered and wide-ranging international exchange platform to promote the international development of the hospital. Israel is an important hub of the countries along the “Belt and Road”. The hospital will actively respond to the call of the national strategy, uphold the principle of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, and explore to establish partnerships with Israel’s first-class medical academic institutions.

Yan Simin introduced the China-Israel cooperation foundation and existing projects in the field of medical and health care. Yan Simin pointed out that China and Israel have complementary advantages in the fields of medical technology and technological innovation, of which the prospect for cooperation is broad. As one of the world's major centers of innovation and technology, Israel can help China's medical development in related fields. The embassy will follow the trend of the times and give full play to its role as a link to expand the field of medical cooperation, assist to construct the hospital’s international cooperative diagnosis and treatment platform, and actively promote the hospital’s China-Israel cooperation to achieve substantive results.

Subsequently, the two parties conducted in-depth discussions on needs, areas, forms and promotion steps of the cooperation, and reached a preliminary consensus on speeding up project cooperation, deepening strategic docking, and promoting complementary advantages.
