On January 13th, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University held a Training Session on the Implementation of Shandong University's "Notice on Postgraduate ‘Problem Papers’ and Further Improving the Quality of Degree Conferment”. Chen Yuguo, president of Qilu Hospital attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting was presided over by Cheng Yufeng, vice president of Qilu Hospital. About 80 people attended the meeting, including Lyu Ming, director of the Department of Education, Han Hui, director of the Medical Department, directors of clinical departments and graduate education management personnel at all levels.
Chen Yuguo emphasized that the postgraduate group is the talent pool and the main force of the hospital's scientific research. To better improve the quality of postgraduate training, we should establish the concept of general education, break down barriers between hospitals and universities, clinical and administrative departments, Qilu Hospital and other clinical medical colleges. We should learn from advanced institutions and introduce mature experiences. University and hospital have emphasized on the quality control of postgraduate education. It is hoped that all majors can be fully aware of the seriousness of “problem papers” from this self-examination and self-correction work, and further standardize and improve postgraduate training process.
Cheng Yufeng said in order to improve the quality of the postgraduate degree of Qilu Hospital, it is necessary to establish new education and teaching concept, improve education and teaching system, and strengthen the process training of postgraduate students. In addition, we should train supervisors regularly, carefully study and implement systems and regulations of the university to further improve related rules and regulations of the hospital. Afterwards, Cheng Yufeng led all attendees to study the “Notice on Postgraduate ‘Problem Papers’ and Further Improving the Quality of Degree Conferment” released by the University.
Lyu Ming led all attendees to study “Summary of Learning Materials for Postgraduate Supervisors of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University (Required)” and “Qilu Hospital of Shandong University Postgraduate Dissertation Self-examination and Self-correction Program”, clarifying the importance and seriousness of this self-examination and self-correction work, and introduced the specific work process and details.
Han Hui introduced the current situation of the hospital's pandemic prevention and control work to all attendees. He said that the number of postgraduate students at the hospital is large and the group is highly mobile. In order to coordinate the pandemic prevention and control work, guarantee safety and stability, all departments must strictly report the daily summary of the ward situation to ensure the safety of teachers and students.
In the Q&A session, Xu Cuixiang, deputy director of the Department of Education answered various questions about the self-examination and self-correction work from attendees. A WeChat work group was set up at the meeting so that everyone can communicate instantly when encountering problems at work.
According to the university’s relevant documents, this meeting is the fourth round of self-examination and self-correction work of the postgraduate dissertation conducted by Qilu Hospital. The Department of Education prepared detailed study materials and work plans ahead of the meeting, and strictly abide by and earnestly implement the university and hospital’s relevant work requirements to ensure that the quality of hospital postgraduate degree conferment meets the standards.
