On October 18th, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University held the Party Building Forum of the Public Hospital’s High-Quality Development in the New Era for the 130th Anniversary. Yang Jianli, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the organs directly under the National Health Commission, Deputy Director of Personnel, and Director of the Office of the National Hospital Party Building Work Steering Committee attended the meeting online and delivered a lecture. The Party Committee of the National Health Commission and the Director of the Office of the National Hospital Party Building Steering Committee Lu Changbin, Deputy Director of the Shandong Provincial Health Commission Qin Chengyong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong University Tong Xinghua, and Secretary of the Party Committee of Qilu Hospital Hou Junping attended the meeting. Hou Junping said in his speech that strengthening the Party building of public hospitals is an inevitable requirement for full and strict Party governance. In recent years, under the correct leadership of the National Health Commission, Shandong Provincial Health Commission and Party Committee of Shandong University, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University has grasped the right direction and mastered the overall situation to work out a new blueprint for high-quality development; it has made right decisions and promoted reforms to gather fresh energy of the high-quality development; it has emphasized on grassroots and laid the foundation to consolidate the new connotations of the high-quality development; it has built up the team and enhanced the quality to create a new atmosphere of high-quality development, by which the hospital has actively contributed to the construction of the “Healthy Shandong” and “Healthy China” strategy. He said that Qilu Hospital would take the 130th anniversary as a starting point to vigorously promote the great anti-pandemic spirit, which is “life first, country united, self-sacrifice, respecting science, and sharing a common destiny”. The hospital will adhere to the Party’s leadership, strengthen Party building, ensure a full and strict governance of the Party to demonstrate its essential characteristics, give full play to its greatest advantages, coordinate the normalization of the pandemic prevention &control and the development of hospitals, and strive to contribute new and greater forces on the new journey of building a socialist modern country in an all-round way .
Tong Xinghua fully affirmed the 130-year struggle of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University in his speech. He pointed out that the Party Committee of Shandong University has attached great importance to the development and construction of medical disciplines, especially that of its affiliated hospitals. He said that as the “flagship hospital” of all affiliated hospitals, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University has been given key support and the Party building work of the hospital has been attached greater importance. He put forward four requirements for the next step in strengthening the Party building work of Qilu Hospital and promoting the high-quality development. First, Qilu Hospital should give full play to the greatest advantage of the Party leadership, and ensure that the Party leadership plays a full role in the hospital work. Second, Qilu Hospital should stick to its basic position of public welfare, and strive to make patients reassured and people satisfied. Third, Qilu Hospital should pay attention to the cadre team, in order to build a team of cadres with cohesiveness and combat effectiveness. Fourth, Qilu Hospital should adhere to the core goal of building the first-class hospital, solidly promote the modernization of hospital governance system and capabilities, and continue to stimulate development momentum and innovative vitality, so as to promote the high-quality and sustainable development of the hospital.
In his speech, Qin Chengyong sent his best wishes to Qilu Hospital of Shandong University on its 130th anniversary. He said that as a century-old hospital with a long history and profound foundation, Qilu Hospital is of great importance in the development of the health undertakings and the public health system construction of Shandong province, and the hospital has made remarkable contributions to the provincial socio-economic development and safeguarding people’s health. He hopes that Qilu Hospital of Shandong University will continue to implement the “Healthy China” and “Healthy Shandong” strategy. “Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind. Keep pace with the times and live up to our youth.” He encouraged Qilu Hospital to strive to build a first-class domestically and internationally renowned high-level research hospital and continue moving forward to better meet people’s health needs in the new era.
Yang Jianli gave a keynote speech under the theme of "Promoting the Great Anti-Pandemic Spirit and Leading the Hospital Culture Construction in the New Era with Party Building". He pointed out that the great anti-pandemic spirit and the lofty professional spirit have merged in the fight against the pandemic to form the hospital culture in the new era. It is necessary to grasp the connotation of the hospital culture construction in the new era, lead the construction with Party building, integrate the hospital’s culture with its development, reform, quality and core value. Therefore, the first is to grasp the characteristics and rules of this industry and strengthen the top-level design of hospital culture construction to promote the high-quality development of the hospital.
Presented at the Party Building Forum were great figures, including Jin Changxiao, Secretary of the Party Committee of Peking University Third Hospital, Yuan Kuichang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong University Second Hospital, Zhang Xin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, Ma Xinge, Secretary of the Party Committee of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Zhao Shengtian, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong First Medical University. They had in-depth discussions on a few topics: How to promote the construction of a “Healthy China” under the guidance of Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress; how does the party committee play the leading role of “steering in the right direction, managing the overall situation, making decisions, promoting reforms, and ensuring implementation”; how to deepen the comprehensive reform of public hospitals and strive to achieve the Three Improvements by promoting the Three Transformations. At the forum, Party committee leaders from various public hospitals expressed their high recognition of the leading role of Party building and their determination to further strengthen the function of it.
