Dr. Hongbo Ren is a post-doctoral fellow in clinical medicine, he is also the chief physician of Department of Gastroenterology, Qilu Hospital, Shandong University, professor of internal medicine of Shandong University, and a master advisor. He has been engaged in clinical work for more than 25 years. He has successively studied under the famous Chinese gastroenterologists, such as Guoming Xu, Zhaoshen Li, and Yanqing Li. Under their strict training and careful guidance, he has mastered the clinical diagnosis and treatment of internal medicine system (expert in digestive system disease), especially in-depth research on pancreatic diseases such as severe acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer and other pancreatic diseases. Besides, Dr. Ren is also proficient in various operating techniques of digestive endoscopy. Among them, the ERCP treatment of biliary and pancreatic diseases is his key field. In recent years, new endoscopic techniques such as ESD for the diagnosis and treatment of early digestive tract cancer have been developed. He has now published more than 30 papers, 11 of which have been collected in SCI. He has been the chief editor or deputy chief editor of 5 books and undertaken a number of scientific research projects such as the General Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China and the project of fund for outstanding young and middle-aged scientists of Shandong Province. He has also won two second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress in colleges and universities of the Ministry of education.
