Clinical and Research Work:

Dr. Feng Xu is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and the Director of Emergency Department of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. He has been working as an emergency physician as well as an interventional cardiologist for more than ten years. He is specialized in diagnosis and treatment of acute and critical cardiovascular diseases, especially in acute chest pain, acute coronary syndrome, cardiac arrest, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and acute heart failure.

Dr. Feng Xu is focused on research of cardiac arrest, acute coronary syndrome, acute chest pain and heart failure, including both basic and clinical studies. He is/was Principal Investigator of 1 National S&T Fundamental Resources Investigation Project (the BASIC study, supposed to be the most authoritative study about the current situation of cardiac arrest in China), 3 Natural Science Foundation of China and 7 other research grants. He has published 22 peer-reviewed papers as the first or corresponding author. His studies have revealed a number of novel findings, including the effect of aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2) Glu50Lys polymorphism on ACS and the underlying mechanisms, a novel score for acute heart failure prediction, several interventional and pharmaceutical therapies for ACS and so on. He has won the first prize and second prize for Sciences and Technology Progress Award of Ministry of Education. He is also a Young Scientist of Taishan Scholar selected by Shandong Province.
